Marketers engage consumers on Facebook, but rely on product reviews for sales
found at internetretailer.com Friday, September 25, 2009
Facebook, Twitter and YouTube were terms that meant nothing to most marketers just a few years ago. But today they’re part of the everyday conversation in marketing departments at most retailers and consumer goods manufacturers, a new study by The E-tailing Group suggests.
The research and consulting firm surveyed 117 companies—including multichannel retailers, manufacturers, web-only merchants and catalogers—and found significant adoption of several social marketing tools, a somewhat surprising finding given how new online social networks are.

Let Reviews Do The Talking |
| by Darrah MacLean and Lisa Harmon, found at mediapost.com |
Over the summer, Crate and Barrel dedicated this email to its product review feature. While the creative is definitely compelling (notice the stars), it’s stll missing a few important calls-to-action: hamely, “read more reviews” and “write a review.” Plus, they haven’t featured product reviews in subsequent emails, so the effort feels a bit abandoned. I have been using Dove deodorant for a couple of years. I currently have the “Ultimate” clear. I decided to do an “armpit to armpit” comparison of this new Clinical Dove. I have pretty sensitive skin and usually stick to known products to avoid rashes.
Dove Ultimate Anti-Perspirant & Deodorant, Sensitive Care, Fragrance Free, 2.6-Ounces (Pack of 4) First of all, the “Ultimate” is a solid and has 14.8% Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex compared to the “Clinical” 20% and cream like consistency. The Clinical consists of a clear container, within that is a cylinder (you can kind of see it in the photo) of the cream. When you turn the dial the cream is forced up through little holes onto the top of the container. You then rub this hard plastic top with the cream on it under your arm. It is easier to spread than the Ultimate and does not break off when you get to the end (like some solids do, at least to me).
Ok, for the test I put one under each arm for seven days and went about my usual business, including trips to the gym and hiking. And the results are….
The Clinical underarm seemed perhaps slightly drier (sweat wise) but this may be because it is easier to cover all the area. It did leave a small amount of white residue on dark clothes, which did wash out in the wash. It did not give me a rash, nor did it dry out my skin. The Ultimate Clear did not leave any residue, leaves my skin a little drier than the Clinical and takes a little longer to apply but still does the job.
I think if you have problems with excessive sweating it might be worth a try, but I find it rather expensive for the marginal difference for me. My other concern would be taking it on a plane, I am not sure if the container would “leak” the cream under pressure which is not a concern with a solid.
I gave it 4 stars for its ease of application and its function but deducted one star for the cost.

I’ve used regular solid deodorants for years until 4 months ago when they began to irritate me. I tried the sprays but found them to be not as effective in keeping me dry. I found this product by chance and it’s the best I’ve ever used. Even better than Degree deodorant , Dial and Arrid. If your sensitive to stick deodorants, they make both a Men’s and a Women’s version. Sometimes tough to find that’s why I’m ordering Mitchum Deodorant on Amazon.

Best wetness control I’ve ever had, and no marks on my clothes–really!, July 15, 2007 UPDATE 10/11/07: Unfortunately, I need to downgrade my rating of this product deodorant review to just 3 stars. As I say below, this product does a GREAT job of not leaving any white streaks on clothing. However, after using it for several months, I was quite disappointed in the actual deodorant abilities! At first, I chalked up my increased underarm wetness/odor to having a very hot summer, but even on cooler days, this product failed me. Eventually, I got fed up and gave up. I’ve recently switched to Secret Platinum, and so far so good, although I won’t be writing any reviews until I’m sure!
For years, I’ve been on a quest for a deodorant that would do a good job of controlling wetness AND wouldn’t leave white streaks on my clothes. I’ve tried them all: clear gels, clear solids, “little black dress proof” versions, and I’ve never found something to meet my needs. Sure, some products were better than others, and I stuck with them for awhile, but I wasn’t completely satisfied.
Then a friend recommended Almay Clear Gel. I was reluctant to try it at first for two reasons: 1) I gave up on gels a long time ago because I didn’t like the wet feeling upon application, and 2) I generally prefer lightly scented deodorants, as I’ve always thought these help to control odor better. But I decided to give the Almay Clear Gel a try anyway, especially when I saw that it was very reasonably priced, and I’m so glad I did! Being a gel, it does go on wet, which did take a little getting used to for me. However, it dries fairly quickly (about a minute), and I’ve found that once it dries, I can no longer feel it at all, unlike solid products. Plus, it does an amazing job at controlling wetness, better than ANY other deodorant I’ve ever tried–and as I said above, I’ve tried a lot! We’ve had a lot of very hot (90-degree) days this summer, but even during the most sweltering weather, this deodorant has kept me completely dry; it’s like the gel bonds with the skin to form an invisible layer of protection against wetness and odor. That’s right, odor too–no fragrance is needed because there is no sweaty smell to cover up! And finally, because Almay Clear Gel totally disappears once it is dry, there is absolute ZERO chance of it leaving any streaks on your clothing.

Dr. Hauschka – Moisturizing Day Cream…
Dr. Hauschka day creme review of the 3.4 FL OZ bottle
the large bottle give more product for the money,
| By | Paprika Bamboo – See all Paprika Bamboo natural products reviews |
This moisturizer smells great, is very moisturizing, and full of great nutrients for your skin.
The majority of Dr. Hauschka ingredients are natural, easy to understand items. A few ingredients have more complicated names, but they always turn out to be the proper name for a certain leaf or plant. Check out their website at [...].
I find that this moisturizer, although very nourishing at first, is not as repairing as I had expected. I exfoliate every second night with microdermabrasion, and used this lotion afterwards. I also use this lotion every morning. However, my skin doesn’t survive the exfoliation when using this moisturizing cream. I want my skin to look amazing, revived, renewed through exfoliation. However, when exfoliation is coupled with this day cream, my skin ends up looking a little weathered.
This lotion is a good day cream, but it is not an emollient night cream.
